Brampton Springtime Dance Festival

Brampton Springtime Dance Festival is hosted every year by The Emma Vee Dance Studios from Darfield. The event staged at Montgomery Hall, Wath-on-Dearne, Rotherham held over the last 2 weekends, 16^th, 17^th and 18^th and 23^rd, 24^th and 25th March, was adjudicated by Miss Linda Wallis.

Elise Academy from Monk Bretton
Jill Brookes School from Barnsley
Dance Depot from Shafton
Karen Murrillo School of Dance from Elsecar

Championship Results

Brooke Olivia Parker from Elise Academy, won the South Yorkshire Junior Modern Championship held on
Friday 16^th, Leah Richards from Emma Vee Dance Studios came away with 2^nd Place. 3^rd Place went to Holly Woodhouse from Betty Chapelle School.

Congratulations, and well done, to Amy Cowan from Wendy Charles School of Dance, who won the 'Miss Dance' heat held on Friday 23^rd. 2^nd Place went to Lucy Tindle of Emma Vee Dance Studios.

Master Dance was won by Billy George from Armley school and 2nd Place was awarded to Ben Grand from Rainbow Studios.

Miss Kerry Gillott from Rachel's Academy of Dance, who is currently in her first year at Phil Winstons Theatre Works in Blackpool, won the North and South Yorkshire Senior Tap Championship and Lucy Tindle from Emma Vee Dance Studios, who is also in her first year at Phil Winstons came away with 2^nd Place. Rebecca Stainrod of the Emma Vee Dance Studios was awarded 3^rd Place.

Included 5 year old Hannah Hoyland pictured here, from Emma Vee Dance Studios, who walked away with a 4^th place medal in the Baby Song and Dance section, and George Booth also five came 4th in Baby Classical.

'Britains Got Talent'

Excitement was brewing early Sunday morning, amongst the Emma Vee Dance Studios senior girls, as they left at 4am, for an audition in Manchester, performing a tribute to Gwen Steffani in front of a panel of experts including Simon Cowel and Ant & Dec. The 12 girl dance group, auditioned alongside 80 other contestants for a place in the final 8, for a new talent show 'Britain's Got Talent' which is to be televised later this year. Although the girls did not make it through to the final, they all said they had a brilliant day and had a laugh and giggle with Ant and Dec who they described as Brill!

Hannah Sowerby, Rebecca Sowerby & Amy Walker for their Junior Cabaret Trios
Amy Cowan winner of 'E' Modern and Miss Dance
Anna Richards & Kate Stalker for their Junior Song & Dance Duet

and finally Lucy Tindle winner of 'F' Song and Dance......danced her last winning performance for her 84year old Nannan Olga here at the Brampton Springtime Festival, where she first performed 14 years ago.

Lucy, who won her first medal, in the baby classical section at the Festival, aged 3, entered Phil Winston's Theatreworks in Blackpool last september.

The event closed with a presentation of medals, trophies and bursaries.
